MRS. A. GIRVEN Mrs. Girven, widow of the late Mr. Adam Girven who, for many years was a lay preacher of the Methodist Church at Kawakawa and Hikurangi, has died at Grey Lynn. Mr. and Mrs. Girven lived at Wliangarei, Kawakawa and Hikurangi, coming to Auckland in 1912. Mr. Girven died last year. Mrs. Girven is survived by 11 children, 65 grandchildren and 69 greatgrandchildren. MR. A. G. SIMPSON Mr. Alexander G. Simpson, chairman of the Rangitikei County Council, has died at Marton at the age of 65. He was prominently identified with numerous local bodies. Mr. Simpson was a son of the late Hon. R. K. Simpson, and was at one time one of the foremost athletes in the Dominion.
