TE PUKE ATHLETIC CLUB

The annual meeting of the Te Puke Athletic Club was held in the Town Board office, Mr. Pilcher presiding. The annual report for the preceding year was adopted. The committee decided to make a donation to the RugbyUnion of £2 2s for the use of the grounds. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr. Tf. O. Cooney (re-elected) ; president, Mr. Pilcher; vice-president, Mr. Persey; secretary, Mr. C. Walker; timekeeper, Mr. Sweetman (reelecetd); starter, Mr. Cliffe; handicapper, Mr. McAneny (re-elected); assistant handicapper, Mr. M. Stewart; blackboard steward, Mr. Neilson; judges, Messrs. Saunders and McNaughton (re-elected). The retiring secretary, Mr. Chapman, who is leaving- the district, was presented with £2 2s. Several of those present spoke of the energy and enthusiasm of the secretary had put into his duties. Mr. Chapman suitably responded.
