NEW REGENT

“WOLF SONG” ON SATURDAY

The all-talking, singing and dancing production, “Close Harmony,” which has been the current attraction at the New Regent Theatre recently, will be shown lor the last time tomorrow.

The theme deals with the adventures of two stage artists, the girl a celebrated singer and dancer, and the boy a struggling musician. The film includes an entire musical comedy in which Nancy Carroll, as the girl, sings “I Wanna Go Places and Do Things/* and is seen in several dancing numbers. Buddy Rogers, as the young musician, renders a number of solo items, while his orchestra is heard to advantage.

A variety of interesting “talkie” and sound films is included in the supporting programme.

The new attraction at the New Regent on SatLirday is entitled “Wolf Song,” and is a tale of romance in the high Sierras. Lupe Velez and Gary Cooper, two of the most outstanding screen players of the present day, have the leading roles. The songs in this Paramount sound production are an integral part of the picture and help to advance the theme of this stirring story. Miss Velez sings “Yo Te Amo” admirably, and Cooper is pleasingly heard in his rendition of “My Honey, Fare Thee Well/’ There are three other songs in the production, which were specially written for “Wolf Song.” All are catchy melodies, splendidly sung.
