Bullet Not Removed The condition of Mr. Edward Hammond. who was shot in the back by an unknown man on Tuesday evening in Fhristchurch, is reported to be unchanged. Doctors are unable to extract the bullet. The police believe that a young man fired the shot, and that he had a companion waiting outside. An examination of finger-prints is being made, and will probably disclose whether the criminal is already known to the police.
