GRAND
“THE FORGER” Edgar Wallace’s latest and most exciting story, “The Forger,” which continues to thrill the audiences at the Grand Theatre, stars Lillian Rich, Sam Livesey, Nigel Barrie and James Raglan. The story deals with the career of young Peter Clifton, a millionaire, who becomes entangled in the operations of a skilful forger. Strong circumstantial evidence is brought against Peter, and it is left to the ingenuity of his young wife to solve the mystery and clear her husband’s name. The film is a faithful reproduction of the original, and abounds in thrilling scenes. “Bare Knees,” which -is also being shown, is an entertaining story of modern American youth. Robert Benchley in “Life” says: “When Jolson enters it is as if an electric current has been run along ihe wires under the seats. The house comes to tumultuous attention. He speaks, rolls his eyes, compresses his lips, and it is all over. You are a life member of the A 1 Jolson Association.”
