After a very successful run of three years as a stage play, Eden Philpott’s famous story, “The Farmer’s Wife,” has now been produced as a motion picture by British International Pictures, and is now at the Lyric Theatre. All over the world the fame of this popular comedy-drama has reached the minds of theatregoers. Unfortunately, it has not come the way of most people to see this sensational play, but the film version has captured all the charm of the story and in addition shows the beautiful Devonshire scenery to advantage. It is a story of English country life, and stars t.he popular British actor. Jameson Thomas, as well as Lilian Hall-Davis, who is also well known to the picture-going public. “Bare Knees,” which is also being shown, is an exciting and unusual story of ultramodern youth. '
