CHANGES AT THAMES
STATION BUILDINGS MOVED REFRESHMENT ROOM AT PAEROA The alterations to the Thames railway station have been completed, and buildings moved from the site of the old station to the new. Thames South has become Thames, and the old Thames station has become Thames North. These changes followed the completion of the East Coast railway, and met with considerable opposition from some of the residents of Thames. The whole of the station building, measuring 105 feet by £0 feet, was moved on trucks from old to new Thames. Half the goods shed was moved to Thames from its old site, and the other half was taken on to Paeroa, where more alterations to the station arp to be made because of the increase in railway business there. It has been decided to erect a new refreshment room at Paeroa. This will measure 100 feet by 20 feet, and will contain all up-to-date conveniences for the accommodation of the travelling public.
