HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated July 13, from the High Commissioner tor New Zealand, London:— Tallow.—No auction this week. Market quiet at last quotations. Apples. l —The steamers Port Campbell, Rotorua, Karamea and Tamaroa have arrived. The Port Campbell and Rotorua consignments are in forward condition and some are wasty. Those by the other ships are satisfactory. Fair demand and stocks clearing steadily. Prices: Sturmers, 14s to 19s a case; Dougherty, Rokewood, Statesman and Rome Beauty, 18s to 225. Hemp.—Manila: Market opened dull, but better demand developed later, and prices improved. “,J” grade, shipment to be in July-September, value £37 3 0s: shipment to be in August-October, £37 15s. Sisal: Market quiet and little irregular. Closing values: Tanganyika and Kenya No. 1, shipment to be in JulySeptember, £39; No. 2, £37 los: good marks, 20s more. New Zealand: Market very quiet. Nominal closing values: High points, shipment to be in JulyAugust, £33 10s; others, unchanged. Wool.—Sales continue. Competition somewhat irregular, but no change in prices for quota.
