SAW PLANE NOSE-DIVE

WITNESSES’ STRANGE STORY RESULTLESS SEARCH Reed. 9 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. A message from Broken Hill states that though police and civilian search parties have been following up emphatic stories told by several reputable persons, that a plane, apparently in flames, was seen to nose-dive into rough country near Rockley on Sunday, no trace of the machine has been found. Four persons in a ear saw the airplane nose-dive, emitting black smoke. Strangely enough, no plane was scheduled to arrive at Broken Hill, and none has left New South Wales or Victorian airdromes, but this one may have come from South Australia.
