SMALL LOANS MATURE
CITY COUNCIL FINANCE ’ Several small loans which have recently matured or will mature are to be renewed by the City Council, subject to the permission of the Local Bodies Loans Board. The town clerk, Mr. J. S. Brigham, reported to the council last evening that the Grafton Bridge loan of £6.500 issued in 1908 matured on January 27, 1929, and it was proposed to ask for a renewal loan of £5,300. The Victoria Park additional loan of £2,000, issued in 1907, matured ’on July 2, 1928, and £1,630 would be required for renew-al. The Abattoir additional loan of £9,000 issued in 1908 would mature on July 23, 1929, and it was proposed to ask for £7,420. Mr. Brigham was authorised to proceed at once with the applications.
