“NOT QUITE SUITABLE

CITY COUNCIL DECLINES SUNDAY REVUE FULLERS' OFFER APPRECIATED To assist sufferers in the recent earthquake, Mr. Ray Fuller, manager of St. James Theatre, had proposed to arrange a special revue programme on Sunday evening. The City Council, however, though greatly appreciative of the offer, has decided that the programme submitted was not quite suitable for a Sunday performance, and regretfully declined to grant permission. “Wo wish to express our thanks to Mr. Fuller," said the town clerk, Mr. J. S. Brigham, this morning, “and we are very sorry we cannot accept his assistance.’’ The council has approved a performance of semi-sacred music to be given by the Auckland Artillery Band in the Majestic Theatre on Sunday evening.
