THAMES HOSPITAL BOARD
Three nurses and one sister have resigned from the Thames Hospital. Three of the resignations were owing to ill-health.
A discussion took place at the Hospital Board meeting as to the efficiency of the X-ray plant. At present the X-ray department was not satisfactory. To bring the plant up to an efficient standard would be costly. An estimate from an expert put the amount down at £659 10s Cd. The original cost of the plant was £750. The present apparatus was satisfactory for fractures, stated the chairman, and they should send bigger cases to tho larger centres. It was decided to get the Hamilton radiologist to report on the plar\t. The question of roading and putting tho grounds of the Paeroa Hospital in order was brought up by the chairman. Mr. Brennan said the roading would cost tho Paeroa borough £3OO. The cost of putting in lawns, fencing, and general layout was estimated to cost £665 1 Os. The work will be carried out under the suDervision of the Paeroa Borough Council.
