SUCCESSFUL DANCE FOR ’QUAKE FUND MUSICAL ITEMS ! Many dances have been given in J Auckland recently in aid of the earth- ! quake sufferers and the sum of £2O was obtained on Monday evening for this purpose when the Thames Girls’ Club (inc.) held a dance in the Manchester Unity Oddfellows’ Hall. The evening was passed pleasantly in dancing and many of the old-time favourites were much enjoyed. The items by some of Miss Beresford’s pupils gave much pleasure, and little Miss Keesing's rendering of “I Haven’t Got a Penny” was very appropriate and swelled the funds to the extent of £1 5s sd. Excellent dance music was provided by Morrow’s Orchestra, 'and during the evening the president, Mrs. McGregor, asked for a hearty vote of thanks to bo passed to the orchestra for its kindness in giving its services free for the evening.
