MR. LYE ON POLITICAL ASPERSIONS NONE FREE FROM WRONG (THE ST. X S Parliamentary Reporter) PARLIAMENT BLDGS, Monday. “Spoils to the victors” came up in the House once more thi* afternoon when Mr. F. Lye (Waikato) described the allega. tions made by Mr. H. S. S. Kyle (Riccarton) as cheap and nasty. “Why make these reflections and aspersions?” asked Mr. Lye. “Why try to mislead the people?” Mr. Kyle who asked the other day whether Mr* Masters, late chairman of the United Party, was the same Mr. Masters as he who was appointed chairman of the Transport Board, must know that the services Mr. Masters is rendering are given gratuitously. Why this veiled attack? Why this sarcasm and attempt to mislead the people? It is cheap and very nasty.” Mr. E. J. Howard (Christchurch South); Is there no pay attached to that job? Mr. J. A. Nash (Palmerston); Did anybody say there was? Sir. D. McDougall tMataura); He didn’t say there wasn’t. < Laughter.) Mr. Lye said that it was not his intention to throw bouquets of the nature thrown by Mr. Kyle across the floor of the House.
