LATE RATES MAINTAINED (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Tuesday. The weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards today was well attended and most prices were firm at late rates. Bobby calves were yarded in large numbers and realised good prices. The auctioneers quote:— Dalgety and Company, Limited. An average yarding of beef and a smaller yarding than usual of fat sheep. Beef firm at late rates and fat sheep easier. Light fat heifers, £8 15s to £9 7s 6d; prime fat cows to £lO 15s; fat cows, £8 10s to £lO 10s; light fat cows, £6 7s 6d to £7 17s Gd; unfinished cows, £4 15s to £5 7s 6d; fat wethers, to 36s lOd: small ewe hoggets, 245; Friesian cows, close to profit, to £18; others, £9 10s to £10: Jersey cows, £9 to £ll 10s; Jersey heifers, £7 15s to £9 10s; baconers, £3 12s to £4 4s: light, £3 to £3 3s; poi'kers, £2 5s to £2 12s; light, 32s to £2 Is; choppers, £2 6s to £3 3s; stores, £1 2s to £1 8s; slips, 16s to 18s; weaners, 12s to 15s. Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited. —An average yarding of beef and a medium yarding of fat sheep and pigs. Good quality beef maintained fair competition and all classes of fat stock sold at late rates. A good number of dairy cows and heifers was yarded and anything close up and good quality met with good competition. We quote:—Good quality fat steers, £l2 K’s to £l3 10s; fat cows, £9 7s 6d to £10: medium fat cows, £7 13s to £8 10s; light fat cows, £6 11s to £7 4s; forward. £5 7s 6d to £6 2s 6d; store, £3 15. s to £5 ss: small heifer calves, £2 ss; vealers, to £3 9s; fat wethers, 36s 9d; fat ewes, 35s 6d to 39s 9d; forward ewes, 23s to 24s 9d; fat hoggets, 27s to 30s 6d; store hoggets, 17s 8d; empty aged store ewes, 11s 5d to 16s 9d; full-mouthed ewes, in lamb, 23s 6d; heavy porkers and light baconers, £2 18s to £3 10s: medium porkers, £2 7s to £2 15s; light, 35s to £2 2s; slips, 18s 6d to £1 Is; Bobby calves, 8s to 15s; dairy cows, £lO to £ll 15s; Jersey cross springing heifers, £8 10s to £9 10s.
