FIRE AT PAEROA

OLD HOUSE DESTROYED (prom Our Own Correspondent) PAEROA, Monday. An old residence near the cemetery was totally destroyed by fire yesterday morning. It was owned by Mr. J. Montague, of Thames. and was leased by Mrs. M. H. Pitkethley, and until Saturday was occupied by Mr. A. Sardelich. The furniture, which belonged to Mrs. Pitkethley. was not insured. Among the effects lost were some treasured family heirlooms, and also a new separator.' The Fire Brigade could do nothing, as there were no fire plugs in the vicinity.
