WAKATERE CANOE CLUB
SOCIAL AT NARROW NECK The W akatere Canoe Club held the most successful social of the season in the Narrow Neck Hall on Saturday evening. The* hall was crowded and the excellent programme was warmly received. Items were given by Messrs. Kerr and Collinson (piano and violin) and songs by Misses C. Stevenson, Tanner and Moore. A one-act play by members of the club was extremely well presented and the players were warmly applauded. A most amusing shadow play by four T niversity students was a clever piece of work and reflected great credit on the performers. One of the most popular items of the evening was the appearance of “New Zealand’s Jackie Coogan,” Master Claude Kerr, who received vigorous applause for his singing of popular songs. After supper dancing took place, music being provided by Messrs. Kerr and Collinson.
