STOLE RAILWAY COAL
v MAN GOES TO GAOL OFFENCES AT MARTON (Special to THE SUN) MARTON, Monday. Thefts of coal from railway stations throughout the Dominion have been common for many years, and Marton Junction station has not been immune from the trouble. A little while back a business man here was heavily fmed for taking coal from the railway yard. This did not act as a deterrent to William H. Hansen, who was charged today on two counts of this nature. It transpired in Court that the Police had been generous, as they had warned him that they knew what was going on. In spite of this, however, yesterday he was caught helping himself. Viewing the matter in a serious light, the Magistrate sent accused to gaol for three months.
