FRIESIANS INSPECTED
TRIP TO RIVERLEA STUD A party of over 20 Friesian breeders visited the Friesian pedigree herd at Riverlea, near Hobsonville, yesterday afternoon on the invitation of the Waitemata Stud Farm. The fine Friesian herd there was inspected and criticised, the visitors being greatly impressed with the quality and condition of the animals. Among the bulls, the show winners. Waitemata Minto Segis and Waitemata King Sylvia, were much admired, and among the cows the royal champions, Hengerveld Belle * Segis, Waitemata Butter Girl, Blanco Johanna Pontiac and Peris Mavis H. received favourable comment. The two-year-old heifer, Waitemata Chloe, at present on semiofficial test, was judged to be an exceptionally fine animal. The members of the party were guests of the manager of the farm, Mr. S. W. Norrish, and of Mrs. Norrish and Mr. F. E. Spedding and Mr. Pountney, of the Waitemata Stud Farm, accompanied them on the visit. On behalf of the visitors Mr. E. M. North, of Omimi, Otago, expressed thanks for the trip.
