PRESENTATION TO MATRON

Further preparations for the carnival bazaar to be held by the X.M.C.A. on August 30 and 31 were made at a meeting held yesterday afternoon, stalls, sideshows and displays being planned. Another meeting was also held yesterday to present to the matron, Miss E. M. Edwards, a silver tea service. The gift was from the directors, staff and residents, and was made on the eve of Aliss Edwards’s departure for Australia. Last evening Air. Robert Laidlaw gave the first of a series of 21 lectures before the Preachers’ Club. Tinsubject of the lecture was “The Worker —his personal relation with God, his devotional life and his consecration. "
