SOCIAL EVENING
Otahuhu Kindergarten Building Fund SERIES TO BE HELD A large gathering of parents and friends of the scholars of the Otahuhu Free Kindergarten attended the second series of social evenings held in St. Andrew's Hall, Otahuhu, during the week. The proceeds of the socials are to be devoted to the school building fund. The arrangements of the function are in the hands of the following committee:—Mr. Pilcher, president of the parents’ committee; Messrs. Lambert, Humber, Arnold and Graeff. Dancing was indulged in, Mrs. J. Gillies acting as pianist, and several extras were played by Mrs. Fugle and Miss Baverstoek.
Between dances a number of enjoyblo musical items were rendered by lie following:—Messrs. Roseverne anil Halford, cornet duet; Mr. Hubbard, Mrs. A. Murdoch, and Miss Hunter, vocal solos.
A number of competitions added gaiety to the function, the winners being:—Mrs. R. Whale and Mr. Flood; spot waltz, Miss Simons and partner; Mont© Carlo, Miss Gardiner and Mr. Simons; guessing competition, Mr. Jacobs.
