HIS MAJESTY’S TRIBUTE TO MR. C. P. SCOTT VETERAN EDITOR RETIRES British Official Wireless RUGBY, Thursday. King George’s private secretary, Lord Stamfordham, has sent the following message on behalf of his Majesty to Mr. C. P. Scott, who has resigned the editorship of the “Manchester Guardian”: For 57 years you have been responsible for the conduct of a great newspaper, and while his Majesty regrets your resignation, he congratulates you upon that achievement, which must surely be unique in the history of journalism.
