MILITARY SPORTS
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION At a meeting of the Auckland Military Sports Association. Mr. J. Arneil presiding, it was decided that £2OO should be spent, on trophies. These prizes are for winners in the general athletic meeting, the tabloid athletics, and swimming sports. The trophies will be presented at a special gathering to be held in the Lewis Eady Hall next Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. The Officer-Commanding, General Young, wrote regretting he would be unable to be present at the presentation of prizes. He expressed his great pleasure at the splendid work being done by the Military Sports Association, whose recent boxing tournament was one of the best conducted he had ever seen. The secretary reported that the boys ! of St. Stephen’s College, Parnell, would ; contribute several items for next i week’s programme. It was resolved to make some re- I cognition of the services of the honorary boxing instructors during the past | season, and the secretary was given ! power to act.
