WHANGAREI BAND RELAY
AUSTRALIAN APPRECIATION WHANGAREI, Tuesday. The secretary of the Whangarei Municipal Band has received the following letters from the Radio Broadcasting Company of New Zealand, in connection with the recent relay of the band’s concert by IYA: “We attach hereto copies of two letters received from Australia in connection with your programme relayed from Whangarei through IYA on the evening of June 16, and trust the same will be of interest to you. (Signed) Radio Broadcasting Co., Ltd., of New Zealand.” S AD D L E WORT .11. South Australia, June 16. “Having lived in North Auckland. 1 very much appreciated the programme broadcast from the Whangarei Town Hall and relayed by your station. I heard every item through the loudspeaker on my five-valve set. Although I often listen in to IYA, tonight’s results were very good. (Signed) A. S. Blundell.” HAMILTON, Victoria. “Heartiest congratulations on your broadcast of the Municipal Band concert on Sunday evening. June 16. The transmission was received perfectly on a three-valve set at full loud-speaker strength, and was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated. (Signed) A. JHeine.” ____________
