RESULTS OF MORRINSYTLLE CONTEST MISS BOWERS WINS 1 * sran <l finale oC the Most Popular contest, which has been conducted m Morrinsville over a period of several weeks, has been reached, the winner being Miss S. Bowers, who obtained 13,311 votes, with Miss V. Howarth, 1-, 533 votes, second. Miss polled 8,261 and Miss Thrupp i ,43b. Art unions conducted in conjunction with the contest were won as follow: tiro screen, Mr. G. 31. Sexton; cushion Ao. 1, Mrs. W. Wallace, Ivailiere; cushion No. 2, C. Francis, Hamilton; dressing table doll, T. Collett, Motumaolio; doll, Miss M. Mannion, Morrinsville. The coronation ceremony was carried out by Mr. and Mrs. T. Scople Cornish, of Auckland, and was a brilliant affair. Mrs. F. Bowers was lady-in-waiting and Misses Zena Ford. Kathleen Reynolds. Patricia Ford and E. Bowers were flower girls. Miss Howarth’s attendants were Miss 31. Reynolds and Misses Vera and Winnie Nola. Miss Shine was attended by Mrs. Harrington and Misses K. and M. Jones. Miss Thrupp’s attendants were Miss P. O’Brien and Misses Ethel and Cushla Casey. The contest was held in connection with the Morrinsville Convent Fund.
