Mrs. Simpson and Miss riliespie, had made excellent arrangements for the entertainment. Among those present were: Miss D. Rosenfeldt, wearing green rreoe de chine. Ui««j N. Colllngwood, in ivory satin *rd georgette, with frilled skirt. Miss K. Collingwood, who wore shot p 'ur* af \Vebb. in a blue and silver gown. Miss Totman, who wore Ivory beaded McKee, in rose satin and gold 3lisa M. Bushell, wearing cyclamen lame and lace. Miss E. Coleman, in a gown of red fine velvet. Miss Masefield, who wore black beaded I'SSbFI Holt, in a gown of flame taffeSiss Bubbles, wearing pink beaded J- Lobb. who wore a blue velvet J. Davies, in a blue crepe de chine *°Miss Wheaton, who wore cornflower blue crepe de chine. Mrs. Canty, in flame satin relieved with apple green. Miss P. Gillespie, who wore peach satin beaute. Miss F. Wynn, in blue crepe de chine Mrs. Styles, wearing ivory brocaded w tin. with flame coloured flower. Miss J. Latimer, in mandarin blue 1 georgette and lace, with diamente buckle. Miss F. Wynne, who wore blue crepe and mffee lace. Miss C. Davies, in shot taffeta with j hr* overskirt. Miss W. Lovegrove, wearing aster I georgette and silver lame. PAKURANGA HUNT MEET AT BEACHLEA DOWNS; SMALL FIELD A small field attended the meet of the Pakuranga Hunt, held at the homestead of Mr. and Airs. O. R. Self, Beachlea Downs, Papatoetoe, yesterday. The sport encountered during the meet was not good, on account of the scarcity of hares. Mr. and Mrs. Self entertained the followers at afternoon tea. LITERARY EVENING MRS. RUSSELL-WOOD ENTERTAINS An interesting reading of W. S. ; Maugham's unusual play, “Caesar's j Wife," was given by a number of j friends who assembled at Airs. Russell- I Wood's home on Monday evening. The play, which gave pleasure to both readers and their friends, who formed the audience, was interpreted by the following:—Sir Arthur Little, read by Air. \V. Russell-Wood: Air Appleby, Mr. Fred Asher; Ronald Parry, Air. Arnold Quinn; Osman Pasha and Henry Pritchard, Mr G. B. F. Ford; Lady Little, by Miss E. Thomas: Mrs. Pritchard. Mrs. E. St. G.
