PAKURANGA HUNT MEET AT BEACHLEA DOWNS; SMALL FIELD A small field attended the meet of the Pakuranga Hunt, held at the homestead of Mr. and Airs. O. R. Self, Beachlea Downs, Papatoetoe, yesterday. The sport encountered during the meet was not good, on account of the scarcity of hares. Mr. and Mrs. Self entertained the followers at afternoon tea. LITERARY EVENING MRS. RUSSELL-WOOD ENTERTAINS An interesting reading of W. S. ; Maugham's unusual play, “Caesar's j Wife," was given by a number of j friends who assembled at Airs. Russell- I Wood's home on Monday evening. The play, which gave pleasure to both readers and their friends, who formed the audience, was interpreted by the following:—Sir Arthur Little, read by Air. \V. Russell-Wood: Air Appleby, Mr. Fred Asher; Ronald Parry, Air. Arnold Quinn; Osman Pasha and Henry Pritchard, Mr G. B. F. Ford; Lady Little, by Miss E. Thomas: Mrs. Pritchard. Mrs. E. St. G.
