AUCKLAND WOOL SALES REDUCTION IN COMMISSION A more equitable spread in the Auckland wool-selling dates and a reduction in commission charges is announced by the Wool Brokers’ Association. The first Auckland sale of the 1929-30 season will take place on November 25 and 26, followed by another on January 21, and a third on March 28. Both the growers and the brokers have for some time sought an improvement, tend in view of the dates arranged brokers have decided to reduce the rates of commission for the coming season to 25 per cent, on the first £SOO and 1J per cent, on the balance over £SOO on the gross proceeds of ■wool, the property of one owner, sold at the three main sales. Previously a charge of 25 per cent, was made right through. Cow hides and sheepskins were slightly easier at the fortnightly sales conducted at the Chamber of Commerce yesterday. The prices for ox hides and tallow remained about the same. The following prices were realised yesterday: Cow hides, light ami medium, 6 l-8d to 7id a lb.: second quality and cut. 6d to 6sd; faulty, 5Jd to ; ox hides, light, 7 l-8d to 7\d ; medium. Benseman (Te Awamutu, New Zealand), five Romney Marsh rams made £95 and three Romney Marsh ewes made £3O 9s. Bidding for Corriedales was patchy. The best price for a Corriedale ram was 65gns.
