“FUN DOCTOR” RETURNS
SIX MONTHS IN SYDNEY After a stay of six months in Sydney, where he received a very good reception, Mr. Norman Tate, the well-known “fun doctor,” arrived back in New Zealand by the Makura on Monday and he is now in Auckland for a short rest. While in Sydney Mr. Tate performed his juggling, balancing and musical turns in the various hospitals and gaols and also entertained sick soldiers. The colleges and public schools were also visited and Mr. Tate says he had not time to rest during the whole six months. During his stay he kept in trim for his work by exercising at Dunleavy’s gymnasium, where he boxed with the Aucklander, Charlie Purdy, as well as several other amateur and professional boxers. Mr. Tate will commence work next week by entertaining the sick at the hospitals and the soidiers at the Evelyn Firth Home.
