PRESTON BY-ELECTION
CONSERVATIVE TO OPPOSE ATTORNEY-GENERAL British Official Wireless RUGBY, Sunday. Sir William Jowitt, Attorney-Gen-eral, has been adopted as the Labour candidate for the Preston seat by the local Trades and Labour Council at the by-election rendered necessary by bis resignation on joining the Labour Party. The Preston branch of the Liberal Party has not yet decided whether a Liberal candidate shall be put forward. A Conservative will contest the seat.
