DOUBLE BANKING CHARGE
CYCLIST FINED “It is difficult to say which m&u is responsible and so we have charged them both,” said Sergeant J. A. Cruickslutnk. in the Onehunga Police Court this morning, when detailing a case of double-banking on a push cycle. He said that the bicycle was zigzaggiug from one side of the road to the other, and that motor drivers had lodged complaints about it. Some times one man was pedalling anil sometimes the other. “But," said Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M . “aren’t they both liable for riding the machine?" One offender. Norman R. Bryan, pleaded not guilty on the grounds that his mate, Charles Robert Hoggart, was in charge of the steering gear, and he was convicted and discharged with costs, while Hoggart contributed a 10s fine and costs.
