Obituary

MR. W. J. HALL W ord was received in Thames on Saturday morning that Mr. W. J. Hall, the well-known Jersey cattlebreeder, of Matatoki, had died at Vancouver, and was buried there. The late Mr. Hall left New Zealand on June 4 on a trip round the world, and was apparently in robust health. Mr. Hall intended to combine business with his holiday, and it was his intention to purchase stud stock while abroad. Mr. Hall was one of the most prominent breeders of Jersey cattle in rCew Zealand, and had gained many P, rize . s . at mos f °f the show's in the Dominion. He was most popular not only in tho district where he lived but throughout the whole of I*Cew Zealand. Air. Hall leaves a widow, a son and four daughters. MISS HENRIETTA HARVEY Miss Henrietta, Harvey, who died at her home in Banff Avenue, Epsom, j esterday, was one of the secretaries of the Women’s Patriotic League during the war, and for several years she was part-time secretary and organiser for the Auckland Auxiliary of the British and Foreign Bible Society. Four yoars ago she was appointed permanent secretary. MR. JOHN A. PERREAU The death occurred at Foxton on Friday of Mr. John Alfred Perreau at the age of 99. Bom in England. Mr. Perreau came to Xew Zealand 78 years ago and engaged in farming at Canterbury. During the past 40 or 50 years he had lived in retirement at Foxton. L ntil a. few months ago he enjoyed excellent health. Mr. Perreau is survived by his wife, who is at present living in Auckland, two sons, Mr. J. G. Perreau. of Northern Wairoa, and Mr. M. E. Perreau, of Foxton, and two daughters, Mrs. A. Winch, of Palmerston North, and Mrs. A. B Stych. of Mount Eden. Ther* ! are 23 grandchildren and several | great-grandchildren.
