MINISTER’S REBUKE
{ MR. ATMORE EXPLAINS QUESTION IN HOUSE (THE SUN’S Parliament ary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Friday. The reason for the public rebuke of a civil servant, Mr. E. Douglas Tayler, supervisor of musical education, was given in the House of ? Representatives today by the Hon. 3 H. Atmore, Minister of Education, when questioned on the subject by Mr. P. Fraser (Wellington Cent tral) - Mr. Fraser asked had the Minister seen the protest by the Public Service Association against the public rekuke? Would the Minister explain to the House and the country the facts of the case? Mr. Atmore said that Mr. Tayler had gone out of his province to inform the j public through the “Education Gazette’’ that the Auckland Blind Institute was not in need of donations, as it was heavily endowed. He urged people to subscribe to similar instii tutions in the United Kingdom. The remarks had been brought i under the Minister’s notice, and he had sent to Mr. Tayler the letter published.
