“TRADER HORN” PAYS HOLLYWOOD A VISIT AND MAKES A TALKIE
'ALFRED ALOYSIUS HORN, better known as “Trader Horn,” who was recently in Auckland, arrived in Hollywood the other day and went visiting in the picture studios. He witnessed no stage in the production of his famous book in picture*, however. On the day Horn chose to come calling in Hollywood W. S. Van Dyke, director, and his “Trader Horn” company landed in Mombasa, British East Africa, to start their trek into the jungles to film the picture. “Trader’* passed a day at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios, looked over the script, spoke for a talking picture, and told executiveshe was satisfied to let Van Dyke film the picture in Africa while he took in the sights of New York.
