SCOUTS ANNUAL MEETING
DEVONPORT TROOP’S AFFAIRS The Devonport Troop of Boy Scouts held its 18th annual meeting on Thursday evening in the Methodist School Room at Devonport, Mr. A. L. Robinson presiding. Commissioner W. J. Holdsworth, Assistant-Commissioner Boswell, and the Mayor and Mayoress of Devonport, Mr. and Mrs. E. Aldridge, were present and addressed the Scouts on the year’s work. Dr. F. O. Pope, the secretary and treasurer, read a report on the troop’s financial position, and gave an account of its activities. Exhibitions of life-saving and ambulance work were given by the Cubs, and several Scouts contributed to the musical programme, special items being given by Mr. G. Shand, Scout Bennett and Cubs Gifkins and Blackie. The following officers and committee were elected:—President, the Mayor of Devonport; secretary and trasurer. Dr. F. O. Pope; committee, Messrs. A. L. Robinson, Robertshaw and Bain, and Mesdames H. C. Bennett, Evans, Shand, Robinson, Cornwall, PerryTaylor, Farrelly and Power.
