BUILDING IN THE CITY
PERMITS FOR JUNE Chiefly on account of the new Civic Theatre, the value of building permits issued by the City Council for the month of June shows a large increase on the figures for June of last year. Permits totalling £302,708 for 19' new buildings and additions were issued. Of this figure, the new theatr accounted for approximately £220,00 ■. Alterations to the Central Police Station have cost £4,800. The permits included sanction for the erection of 40 dwellings. In June of last year permits to the value of £159,540 were i issued. There were 33 dwellings.
