MAYOR’S RELIEF FUND
There is no slackening in the number of contributions being received by the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. G. Baildon, to his fund for the relief of sufferers in the recent earthquake.
VOTES FOR RELIEF The Waitaki County Council has voted £IOO for relief. , The Mayor’s earthquake relief fund in Christchurch now totals £5,468. The Masterton earthquake relief fund has reached £725. The Dannevirke “Evening News today on behalf of its subscribers, wired £IOO to the Mayor of Westport for the immediate relief of Karamea settlers. This amount is in addition to transmitted previously by the “News” to the Mayor of Nelson for refugees in tliat town. , .. . . The Dannevirke Borough Council last evening voted £2O to the relief fund. Dannevirke contributions to date are as follow: —“Evening News” list. £240: Mavor's fund, £142. Total, £382. The Mayor of Hastings’s earthquake fund opened this morning in the “Hawke’s Bay Tribune,” already totals £136. ' Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Lowry have contributed £125.
