ALLOWED SEVEN DAYS
DEBTOR TO SUMMONS CREDITORS A. H. MARTIN’S AFFAIRS For the purpose of assigning his estate to trustees. Alexander Henry Martin, law clerk, has to call his creditors together within seven days. This was the decision of Mr. Justice Kennedy in the Supreme Court today when a creditor’s petition was presented for Martin's adjudication as a bankrupt. On debtor’s behalf, Mr. McKay applied for a month’s adjournment, stating it was Martin’s intention to convene a meeting of his creditors to discuss taking over his estate. He had already conferred on the proposal with some of the biggest creditors, but had not been able to see them all. No objection was raised to this application on condition that the creditors’ meeting was convened immediately. It was mentioned that the judgment had been obtained against Martin in November last and no action in the direction now proposed had been taken until the last few days. Fouteen days’ adjournment was granted on condition creditors were called together in a week.
