FLYING ANGEL MISSION
MOVING TO NEW ROOMS The Flying Angel Mission to Seamen is to move into new quarters on Monday, and to celebrate the occasion a farewell concert was held last evening in the old rooms at Emily Place. The new quarters are in the Simich Building, Customs Street. A large number of seamen from the various ships in port was present, and a party from the German cruiser Emden also attended. They were cordially received by the British seamen and soon were fraternising. The chaplain, the R.ev. H. K. Vickery, gave a lantern address on “Picturesque New Zealand” from slides lent by the Government. Views of the districts which suffered in the recent earthquake before the happening were particularly interesting. A musical programme arranged by Mrs. H. Newbery was given by the following artists:—Mrs. Newbery and Messrs. Cocker and Oliver, trios; Mr. S. Hamlin, songs; Misses Kendall, duets; Mr. R. Oliver, violin solos; and Mr. H. Cocker, flute solo. Supper was provided by the Harbour Lights Guild under the direction of Mesdames West and Purdon.
