Winter Trotting
AUCKLAND FIXTURE ENDS Derby Lynn Wins Nicely SEBISCAS BIG SURPRISE THE Auckland Trotting Club’s winter fixture concluded in showery weather. There was a good attendance and the track, after the overnight rain, was again heavy, providing decidedly holding footing. Favourites had no hope in the Royal trot, a desperate finish being fought out between Sebisca, Dipnoi, Floraline and Appea 1, the former gaining’ a bead decision, returning his backers close on a score. Handled with excellent judgment bv C. G. Lee, Nelson Dillon came away over the final stage of the Suburban Handicap to score a popular victory from Hostess who attempted to win from end to end.
Cardinal Logan won the Mark Memorial Handicap from the favourite, Kohara, after a good race.
