ALBERT DANCE HIGHLAND TENNIS CLUB Despite the inclemency of the ■weather, there was a large attendance at King George’s Ilall, Mount Albert, on Saturday night last, when the Highland Tennis Club held its annual dance. MUTUAL AID SOCIETY’S GOOD POSITION An increase of 31 in tlie membership of the Smith and Caughey Mutual Aid Society, now standing at 353, was reported at the annual meeting. Members of the society who received help numbered 219, and the credit balance of £934 revealed the society’s strong financial position. Congratulations on the success of the work were read from Mr. J. Marsden Caughey, patron of the society. He commended tlie move to build up the reserve fund. The society in this way made preparations for any emergency. The society’s meeting was in the j form of a social for members and j friends. Officers for the coming year are:—-j President, Mr. J.
