Discussions by local bodies on changing time-tables - . . A LL this publicity, and still there not know that the Rotorua express left half an hour earlier this morning. Ten intending passengers missed the train. “Why can't we be told about these things?” indignantly demanded a man who wanted to go to Mercer. This morning the new time-table came into operation. The Taneatua express left at 9 o’clock instead of 8.35. Several passengers bustled on to the platform soon after 8 o'clock, but as the train was later they couldn’t miss it. The Rotorua express now leaves at 10 o’clock instead of 10.30, and this annoyed several passengers who missed this morning. The first, a lad of 17 or 18, did not seem to mind very much, and thought that tomorrow would do him just as well. Then came the irate businessman, followed by a young couple complete with golf clubs and the holiday spirit. They were disappointed, as were several others who trailed along to the platform long after the train had gone. “That’s all right. We’ll get this for a w*ek,” remarked one porter who kli unobservant public.
