LABOUR DAY A DEPUTATION from the Waikato Hunt Club waited on the Minister at Te Awamutu on Saturday afternoon with reference to. the Labour Day date, over which there has ben much difference of opinion between the Hunt Club and the Waikato Racing Club. Mr. F. Lye, M.P., dwelt upon the Hunt Club’s claims to this date, and expressed a sincere hope that there would be no change. The Minister said the matter was in the hands of the Dates Committee and the Conference. He had no intention of interfering with the allocation of the date in question. Going upon this statement by the Minister it would seem that the Waikato R.C. will get Labour Day, for the Auckland District Committee has already approved of that and requested the Waikato Hunt Club to choose another date. Perhaps the New Zealand Racing Conference next month will settle the question.
