St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Northcote. was prettily decorated for the wedding of Edith, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hulbert, of Lake Road, Northcote, to Richard Charles, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Castleton, of Wark-
worth, late of Northcote. T'HE bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in an uneven length frock of softest ivory georgette, reliev-'ed with silver. Her beautiful veil was of French embroidered tulle, and was fastened with a filet of pearl floAvers. An exquisite bouquet of roses and sweet peas completed her toilette. BOUQUET OF BLUE ORCHIDS
Her tAvo attendants were Miss E. Meeks, of Mount Eden, and Miss H. Wiltshire, of Mount Albert. Miss Meeks wore a picture hat of light-Aveight felt, with her frock of lotus blue crepe de chine, and she carried a beautiful bouquet of rare blue orchids. _ . Miss Wiltshire’s gown was of phlox pink georgette, dipping gracefully to the back, and her picture hat was of matching. shade. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. . . The Rev. J. A. Allen conducted the marriage ceremony. The bridegroom’s brother, Air. Den Castleton. attended as best man, and the bride’s brother. Mr. P. Hulbert, acted as groomsman. Mrs. A. E. Allerley presided at the ° r The reception was held in the Methodist Hall adjoining the church, and
some 60 guests were present. The tables were decorated with blue and pink flowers to tone Avith the bridesmaids’ frocks, and a pink petalled wedding bell filled with confetti was suspended from the ceiling. The Rev. J. H. Allen presented the couple with a handsomely bound volume in which were inscribed the names of all the guests present. The bride’s mother, Mrs. W. J. Uulbert, received the guests wearing a saxe blue avool crepe de chine gown relieA'ed with bois de rose. Her hat was of toning felt. Mrs. W. Castleton was gowned in a navy blue wool crepe de chine ensemble with beige trimmings and beige felt hat. The bride's tra\'elling ensemble was of brown and beige with hat to tone, worn Avith mongolian fox furs.
DEAN—WALKER PETTY WHANGAREI WEDDING Christ Church, Whangarel, was the scene of a pretty wedding when Rose, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Walker, of Whangarei, Avas married to Harry Norman, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean, of Napier. The Rev. H. T. Steele officiated. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a dainty gown of ivory embossed crepe de chine Avith flounces' of ivory satin beaute. The embroidered veil was held in place Avith a pretty headdress of ribbon and orange blossoms. MAID IN SEA-FOAM GREEN Miss R. Tibbits acted as bridesmaid, Avearing a frock of sea-green satin beaute and georgette Avith drooping skirt and headdress to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. L. Hall as best man. Mr. and Mrs. Walker held a reception at their residence in Alii 1 Road, about 60 guests being present. Among these were Mesdames Wilson and J. H. Fletcher, of Auckland: Goldfinch, Jackson and A. Dean, of Napier; and Miss Dean, of Napier. The bride’s travelling frock Avas a smart flared coat frock of rose beige with beige and black satin trimmings.
