“REMNANT” AFTERNOON
ANGLICAN WOMEN’S GUILD AT NORTHCOTE .
An ‘At Home” and gift afternoon in connection with St. John’s Church (Northcote) Ladies’ Guild was given in the Parish Hall on Thursday afternoon. As it was the beginning of the season, it was made a “remnant” afternoon to give the industrious ones some materials with which to work. The response was very satisfactory, a good supply of materials being handed During the afternoon several enjoyable songs were contributed by Miss E. Pearce, Miss P. Johnston and Mrs. G. Hunt. A pianoforte solo by Miss George was very much appreciated. Mrs. Kendal and Mrs. Eades were the winners of two novel competitions. Among those present were: Mrs. McFarland, Mrs. Cadness, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Garner, Mrs. Cross, Mrs. Hunt, Miss Hunt, Mrs. Weeks, Miss Weeks, Mrs. R. Cadness, Mrs. Newman, Mrs. Bethwaite, Mrs. Bailey, Mrs. Sharpe, Mrs. A. Taylor, Mrs. Cauldrey, Mrs. Woodhouse, Mrs. Eades, Mrs. Harding, Miss Phyllis Johnston, Miss George, Miss Peace, Mrs. Gordon Hunt, Mrs. G. Cadness. Mrs. Munro, Mrs. Swinbank, Mrs. Towsend, Mrs. Ellis, Mrs. McClymont, Mrs. McLeod, Miss Cauldrey.
