WINTER EXHIBITION
ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE SHOW The joint committee of the Auckland Winter Exhibition today finalised arrangements for the show next month. Mr. J. A. C. Allum presided. ' "It is the time wren we expect to get a return from our advertising campaign,” declared Mr. O’Donnell, in reference to an application by the Auckland Ladies’ Hockey Association for entrance passes to the exhibition for visiting hockey players participating in the annual country tournament in Auckland at that time. “If the players come in a body we may be able to do something for them,” remarked the chairman. The matter was reefrred to the Finance Committee. The exhibition of citrus fruits, including lemons and Poorman oranges, the latter particularly as a breakfast fruit, being staged by the Auckland Provincial Fruitgrowers’ Association and the Citrus Association, is to cost about £2OO, of which about £IOO is in hand.
New members were appointed to committees as follow: Messrs. H. Welsh, advertising; E. D. McLennan, agricultural, dairy education, arts and photographs, and entertainments; J. Meyer, needlework, dairy produce and agricultural products. Station IYA is arranging to broadcast the opening ceremony, and will have a line at the exhibition for its duration, so that any other function can be broadcast. The committee expressed its thanks to the Broadcasting Company.
