REFUSAL TO LICENSE
RADIO “FAN” FINED £2 OTHERS TO PAY £1 Said by the radio inspector to be a particularly flagrant breach, the charge prefer* ed against J. K. Stewart at the Police Court this morning of operating an unlicensed radio set was regarded more seriously by the C#urt than the remaining charges On a long list. The inspector said that defendant had been fined £1 and costs at Helensville on November 6 of last year. His house was opposite the post office, and for a Ions: time he had refused to take out a licence. He operated a fivevalve set. Stewart was fined £2 and costs. The following were fined £l: —W. J. Bird, P. C. Baker, F. H. Conway, A. S. Coventry, W. G. Carew, H. R. Duggan, P. J. Davison, W. G N. Hutchison. R. Horn, D. E. Harkness, R. M. Harris, R. W. Kirkpatrick, Ethel C. Peckham, W. Parkinson, L. P. Potter, A. E. Patterson, J. Robb and Ida Ritchie. Marion McQuarrie was ordered to pay costs.
