LOWER RATES STRUCK
REDUCTION AT WELLINGTON Press Association. WELLINGTON, Today. The Wellington City Council last evening adopted the estimates for the ensuing year and struck the rates for all purposes, which are a reduction of one and three-quarter pence in the £ on last year. In the estimates themselves the tramway surplus was £B,OOO lower than last year. Profits on the sale of electricity were £ 50,053. Buses showed a debit balance of £13,109.
