£665 A MONTH
l?OR the-next three months the Te Aroha Jockey Club will be paying out £665 a month to complete the improvement scheme for its racecourse. A further stage was advanced this week when the club accepted the £1,995 tender of Messrs. H. Gray and Co. for the reconstruction of the course, and making a plough and a grass training track. The work is to be put in hand at once, and is due to be completed by the end of September, so that the fruits of the policy of progress of the club will be reaped when the annua! meeting is held on March 1 and 3, 1930. The re-formed course will see the elimination of that nasty corner at the five-furlong post, and the provision of a straight run home of about two furlongs. The Te Aroha Jockey Club is to be congratulated on the enterprise it is exhibiting, which cannot fail to be rewarded with a series of successful fixtures.
