BLACK FRIDAY
Hastings trainer V. H. Coleilo decided at Napier Park on Friday that it is just as well that ill-luck comes all together. He had had Tanagra going particularly well when the chestnut met with leg injury which prevented his starting at the meeting, and may keep him away from Hastings this week. Then Irish Court, when being unloaded from the horse-box on the course, fell over, and he, too, could not be started. This left Sylvan Dell, who was expected to make some amends in the six-furlong hack event. She lasted just about one furlong, when Tourist galloped on her heels and over she went. She was not much the worse apparently for her fall, and was started on -the concluding day, but failed to gain a place.
