SURPRISE PARTY
MISS LORNA KNAPPING ENTERTAINED The many friends of Miss Lorna , Knapping, of East Tamaki, assembled unexpectedly at her home yesterday afternoon to bid her farewell, prior to her departure from the district. A gay afternoon was spent in music j and novelty competitions. Vocal solos were rendered by a number of the guests, and Miss Green and Mrs. AVenzlick contributed several violin solos. Mrs. Layslett was adjudged the winner of a very interesting competition. Luring the afternoon Mrs. Christensen, on behalf of those present, handed Miss Knapping a silver cake basket, suitably inscribed, and wished her every happiness in her new surroundings. Miss Knapping suitably responded. Among those present were:—Mrs. McCathie, Mrs. W. Ormiston, Mrs. Blake, Mrs. P. E>. Ormiston, Mrs. Christensen, Mrs. L. Wenzlick, Mrs. H. Henning, Mrs. V. Cossen, Mrs. Layslett, Ngaruawahia, Mrs. F. Stonex, Mrs. Clayton, Mrs. Clapham, Miss E. Blake, Miss Hope Johnson, Miss Sherry, Miss P. Landon, Miss RodeWilde, Miss M. Hall, Miss J. Baverstock, Miss E. Phillips, Miss Baverstock, Miss Hall, Miss Fairweather, Miss A. Ferguson, Miss M. Hill and Miss Green.
